"Conversations with Colleagues," provides an opportunity for informal mentoring in the College of Medicine, involving roundtable discussions over the lunch hour. It is open to all faculty members. Two faculty members, one clinician and one basic scientist, start the conversation around a topic chosen for the session. Sample topics include: Finding Your Scholarship, Effective Communication and Faculty Service. The invited faculty members each talk for a few minutes on the theme, based on their personal experiences, and then discussion is opened to all participants. The series provides a venue for junior faculty to get answers to all kinds of questions related to a successful career in academic medicine, as well as a unique opportunity for identifying both senior faculty and peers who could serve as mentors.
If you wish to attend please RSVP to folkersd@u.arizona.edu for Tucson and for Phoenix RSVP to sandeec@email.arizona.edu.
Sponsored by the Office of Faculty Affairs
