Our Mission
The mission of the Office of Faculty Affairs is to improve faculty retention, productivity and morale in The University of Arizona College of Medicine. Created in 2006, the goals of the office are to:
- Streamline and systematize recruitment procedures, and assist departments in faculty searches
- Increase faculty diversity through improved recruitment planning and a variety of diversity initiatives
- Promote faculty development and advancement through programs that build and expand professional skills and knowledge
- Increase institutional equity
- Facilitate the development of mentoring relationships at all levels
- Foster the development of the next generation of leaders
- Evaluate the effects of these programs on faculty retention, productivity and morale
We recognize that the success of new faculty is one measure of the success of the entire College of Medicine. Thus, we are committed to providing the resources and tools that will allow new faculty members to achieve their goals in academic medicine. |
